Moseley Community Development Trust (MCDT), established in 2001, is a dynamic charity dedicated to fostering community growth and cohesion in Birmingham’s Moseley area. Operating from its Alcester Road office, MCDT spearheads numerous initiatives that enrich local life and support community development.

A cornerstone of MCDT’s efforts is the Moseley Exchange. This collaborative workspace in the heart of Moseley provides an environment for community members to work, create, and share ideas, supporting local entrepreneurs and small businesses.

MCDT’s acquisition of the Moseley Hive, demonstrates its commitment to creating long-term community spaces. The Trust also runs the Moseley Alternative Giving Campaign (MAGC), offering support to those at risk of homelessness through small grants and specialist services.

Other successful initiatives include the Moseley Together project, which provided networked community support during the pandemic, and the Moseley Arts Market, showcasing local creative talent alongside the monthly Farmers’ Market.

As a partner of Birmingham Community Action Network, MCDT’s community-focused approach and diverse initiatives seamlessly align with BCAN’s objectives of providing community-based support and advice services. This synergy supports MCDT to collaborate with BCAN partner organisations to contribute valuable local insights and resources to the network’s collective efforts.
