Birmingham Ethnic Education & Advisory Service

BEEAS is a charitable trust founded in 1984 by a small group of benefactors from the Asian community. Since its establishment, the organisation has been dedicated to supporting learners and communities through high-quality education, training and guidance. BEEAS has achieved recognised quality standards, including Investor in People (IIP) recognition, the Employer of Excellence Award and the Matrix Award for impartial advice and guidance.
Our team includes a core teaching staff, a Refugee Support Team, two Operations Managers/IAG Lead and two finance staff. We are also supported by volunteers who play a vital role in delivering our services. This team enables BEEAS to offer accessible and responsive learning opportunities to a wide range of learners.
The organisation is based in Lozells, where some classes are delivered. BEEAS also runs courses in inner-city primary schools, Lozells Methodist Community Centre, and sheltered housing schemes. We currently provide programmes at four levels: Pre-Entry, Entry Level 1, Entry Level 2, and Entry Level 3, including Life and Living Skills, Functional Skills English and Maths, Vocational ESOL and Ascentis English. BEEAS supports learners to progress into local Further Education colleges for Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications, vocational courses or employment opportunities.
Since 2004, we have maintained a long-standing partnership with Joseph Chamberlain College, providing support during inspections and audits.
Birmingham City Council grants, further enable our work with Syrian, Afghan and Ukrainian refugees, strengthening integration, community cohesion and opportunities for those who need support most.
