Birchfield Community Association (Birchfield Big Local)

Birchfield Community Association is a community anchor organisation that serves as a partner within the Birmingham Community Action Network. The organisation is part of the legacy of the ten-year Big Local programme in Birchfield funded through the National Lottery Community Fund. Located in the Birchfield Ward of Birmingham, Birchfield Community Association aims to connect the gifts, passions, skills, and aspirations, of residents to better identify and address community needs and priorities.
As a community anchor, Birchfield Community Association plays a vital role in promoting positive change and improving the quality of life for residents. The work of the organisation includes celebrating the diverse culture and heritage of the area, enhancing the environment, promoting health and wellbeing and supporting local social enterprises.
Birchfield Community Association is currently based at Wilton Road United Reformed Church which serves as a community hub, providing a focal point for activities, meetings, and community organising.
Through its partnership with the Birmingham Community Action Network, Birchfield Community Association collaborates with other organisations to address local issues and support community development. The organisation works closely with other community organisations, faith groups, schools and Local Authority and statutory services to identify and respond to the needs of the local community.
By connecting residents and leveraging their skills and resources, Birchfield Community Association aims to create a more vibrant, inclusive, and resilient community in Birchfield Ward.
