B:CAN Welcomes Members to the First Meeting of 2026

Today, we were pleased to host the first Birmingham Community Action Network (B:CAN) meeting of 2026, bringing together our network members – all committed to strengthening community action across the city.

The session provided an opportunity to share key updates on the wide range of ongoing work across our network and to extend a warm welcome to our newest members – MECC, Narthex, and Midland Mencap. Each brings valuable experience and a strong commitment to strengthening local communities, which will further enhance the collective impact of B:CAN’s collaborative partnerships.

25 committed B:CAN colleagues were in attendance, representing a diverse range of community-led organisations from across the city, these regular network meetings provide an excellent platform to connect in person, share updates, exchange insights, and strengthen collective learning across the network.

Officially launched less than a year ago, B:CAN has quickly established itself as a strong collaborative between some of the city’s leading community organisations to help address gaps created by reductions in local services. This fast-growing network brings together a diverse range of community-led anchors and organisations to ensure residents across Birmingham have access to vital resources and support systems. Through our collective efforts, we’ve created an accessible and responsive network that continues to adapt to the evolving needs of our communities – and we’re excited for the journey ahead.
